Home is where you brand yourself....

Lately i've been working on my self branding for my professional practice module, shown above are a number of my business card ideas.

(front of card shown on the right hand side, left hand side is the reverse)

As you can see i'm just trying to play around with the layout using the logo at the minute.

as always comments are welcome!

new work....eventually

here are a few pieces from my ISTD 100 project which i'm on at the minute, basically it's typography based and the theme is 100. i'm working on a 'type kit' hence the bottom image looking like an airfix kit. the layout is based on old typesetting drawers used in the days of printing presses, these drawers contained all the characters to be hand put into the press, i had to adapt them to add some more sections for the 100 bit (shown are 2 0f 3 pages)

The day(s) the UK stood still

After the days of snow that have affected the whole of the UK i went and took a few photo's this is the pick of the lot in my opinion.
i then went on to go crazy with the photoshop, just to clear my mind from the mammoth of an essay that has been sitting heavy over me!!

Everybody Loves Explosions

Fireworks at Leicester's Abbey Park, was a quality show, quite short though.
I really like the spot lighting on these photo's in front of the foodstalls. the more abstract images shown are out of focus shots of lights.

Summer Print Workshop

so over the summer i went down to penryn, cornwall to participate in a week long print workshop with the coolest artist/printmaker i've ever met, John Howard.
check him out at www.johnhowardprintstudios.com
the course was at his brilliant studio on the side of the harbour in the small town of penryn near falmouth, cornwall

I took along some typography work to turn into print, the studio uses traditional metal etching techniques to put the image onto a metal plate.
